Maureen and Stephen’s Wedding
Memorial day weekend 2016 was set into motion with a a great start! Just last weekend myself and Assistant Jon worked as the Geneva Wedding DJ for Maureen and Stephen for their intimate 40 person wedding at the Herrington Inn and Spa.
From my first meeting with Stephen I knew I wanted to work with them. For those of you who read these blog posts, you can tell I truly get personally invested into each and every wedding I’m involved with, and this wedding was no different. At the time of booking me they already had their entire guest list locked down and written in their planning book. He explained to me how their list was created and who was on it. I quickly learned this was truly going to be an intimate affair with just their closest family and friends.
Because of this I was able to take a slightly different approach for their wedding than I have for others. I was able to angle everything at how we can best incorporate who and what they want as part of their wedding.
The Herrington Inn and Spa itself was a nice venue where I’ve never been before. It has a small hotel (the “Inn” part of the name) attached where some of the couple’s out-of-town guests were staying for the week. The staff at the venue was great to work with both before the wedding, and during (always a nice surprise). I also worked with Jason from Studio One Photography who took care of capturing the day’s events.
We started out the day with a beautiful outdoor ceremony in the hotel’s courtyard, followed by the reception inside the other building
We had a great reception with a full dance floor. Assistant Jon even got in on the action and decided to jump in and dance with some of the guests (as can be seen in the pictures below).
Check out some of our candid pictures below and feel free to tag yourselves on social media! The pictures below were taken by us, and not by the event photographer. Click here to see the facebook album which includes some of these pictures!
