Leah and Alex’s Wedding
To finish off the long memorial day weekend, Assistant Jon and I pulled a double header this weekend to celebrate Leah and Alex’s wedding at Germania Place in Chicago. Germania Place is a beautiful venue which has been a Chicago landmark for quite some time being that it was built in the 19th century.
I really enjoyed working with Leah and Alex to pull off their dream wedding not only because of the great relationship I had fostered with them throughout the planning process, but also because I went to college with Leah and knew some of the guests and bridal party.
This wedding had a “room flip” which means we had both the ceremony and reception in the same room. To do a successful room flip it requires some major coordination by all vendors involved, but especially the venue. First we had the beautiful ceremony in the room, then all guests went into a side room for cocktail hour with live music, and then once the room was ready and all the tables and dance floor had been set up, we had everyone re-enter the room which had been completely transformed.
During dinner I could literally feel the excitement building for the “party to start”. I’ll be the first to say, that once this party started, it did not stop! We had a completely packed dance floor from beginning to end, and I know everyone had a truly amazing time.
Leah and Alex, thanks for allowing me to celebrate with you and your friends, it was truly an honor!
